Hibiscus and Cinnamon

For this blend Tea & Twigs uses: Hibiscus and Cinnamon.

Upon opening the tea tin, you are hit with the spicy sweet cinnamon followed by a fruity under tone.

Let’s Get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing is the opposite to its dry state where the fruity flavours are stronger than that of the cinnamon.

The brewed liquid is that of a deep pinky red.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

Hibiscus is the prominent taste within this blend. It brings a rich fruity floral flavour. Hibiscus is one of those distinctive flavours, which is fruity yet floral but also holds its own.

The cinnamon brings not just a flavour undertone but also a depth aspect. This is down to the warming properties it brings, an added comfort almost to each sip.

Together, the cinnamon and hibiscus work in harmony with each other, which adds to the “wellness” side of the blend.

Just the perfect sweetness.

There’s just something quite comforting and wholesome about sipping on a cinnamon spiced blend. It just appeals to the senses and your mods.

It’s also one of those blends that you know are just going to work perfect hot or cold. Or with a a spritzy twist as Mocktail.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Lemon Passion Fruit Tea

Upon opening the tea pouch you are instantly hit with an amazing aroma of a fruit cocktail of flavours. The main smell is primarily that of passion fruit.

Let’s Get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing is completely different to that of its dry state. The passion fruit is still the most prominent however the lemon grass and orange is coming through strongly now too.

The brewed liquid is that of a yellow colour.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

It’s not quite the taste I was expecting based on its aroma. Yet it doesn’t dissapointment. The main flavour on the first part of the sip is that of orange and the pineapple which are giving me a passion fruit sort taste when sipped all together.

The second part of the sip is where the flavour of the Lemongrass. With an after taste of papaya.

Blended together the flavours work perfectly bring a tropical taste to each sip. This tea is giving me nostalgia and back to my childhood and if any of youve had a a carton of umbongo this tea is giving me those vibes.

This blend is naturally really sweet I’d recommend not adding any additional sweetness to it and taking it as it comes.

It’s also one of those blends that can keeping brewing as you sip but also perfect hot and cold depending on the seasons.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Tea and Leaves – Pumpkin & Turmeric

Time for Tea Please?

Ready to embrace autumn? Thanks to Tea and Leaves I’m able to share with you their Pumpkin & Turmeric blend.

Cute packing!

Tea and Leaves

(Diredt from website)

Tea & Leaves believes in more than just giving you tea and letting you leave; we believe tea can leave you with something more than what you came for!

All puns aside, we are a small, independent tea shop with a big imagination. Our blends are always beyond basic, and we believe tea is a feeling.

Packed and blended on the beautiful Cornish Coast, we have something for everyone and are here for you to enjoy time and time again.

Our leaves (houseplants) are rejuvenated, re-loved, or rescued; we don’t buy in stock and prefer an ethos as heart-warming as our teas. To reflect this, all of our packaging is as eco and friendly as we are.

Pumpkin & Turmeric

For this blend, Tea and Leaves uses: Apple, pumpkin (min 15%), carrot, turmeric (min 3%), cacao kernels, cloves, orange peel, cinnamon, natural aroma and marigold petals.

Upon opening the tea pouch you are instantly hit with a rich fruity spicy aroma. It’s kind of a cross between a freshly baked pumpkin pie and a mulled wine. So imagine that autumn festive combo rolled into one! It’s certainly got my senses and mouth watering at that mix.

Let’s Get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing is completely different to that of its dry state. Pumpkin is now at the forefront front of the smell with light spicy tones of the cinnamon.

The brewed liquid is that of a golden yellow colour, or turmeric yellow!

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

It’s the perfect balance of fruit and spice.

The initial flavour is that of the pumpkin and the turmeric, followed by the spicy warming tones of the cinnamon with an aftertaste of the apple. Yet sometimes it’s orange so a brew that keeps you guessing but keeps you going.

This blend is also one that you know will taste great hot or cold to suit your needs but for me it’s warm all the way.

This tea is the perfect warming blend that just screams autumn flavours and warming up cold fingers. Or when your feeling a bit under the weather and you need flavour and goodness. It’s like drinking a mug of sunshine. Which with the darker nights incoming makes it a perfect brew!

Chai Wallah Margate – Tropical Punch

Time for Tea Please?

Who doesn’t love a tea blend made for summer perfect not just hot but iced cold too. So thanks to Chai Wallah Margate, I’m able to try their Tropical Punch.

Chai Wallah Margate

(Direct from website)Chai Wallah Margate was born after falling in love with the country that invented chai – India. With a desire to source high quality chai upon returning to the UK and finding it difficult, nigh on impossible, we decided that the only thing to do was create our own. This allowed the freedom to experiment with the flavours we loved and find different blends that reflect our every mood.

A delicious taste was not enough however, each blend has been individually hand-crafted to be as beautiful and fragrant as it is delicious, to create an all-round sensuous tea drinking experience. We spend enough time rushing around in our everyday lives, the very act of taking the time out for yourself to enjoy a restorative cup of tea is important and shouldn’t be underestimated. Having expanded from chai alone to stocking a variety of unusual blends and exotic twists on the classics, Chai Wallah Margate is perfect for the adventurous tea drinker.

Tropical Punch

For this blend, Chai Wallah uses: apple pieces, rosehip, orange peel, desiccated coconut, pineapple, passion fruit, pomegranate flowers, sunflower petals, natural flavouring.

Upon opening the tea pouch you are instantly hit with an intense fruity aroma. All the fruity flavours give one massive punch of tropical blend which certainly makes your mouth water!

Let’s Get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing isn’t too dissimilar to that of its dry state. However the aroma isn’t quite as intense the flavours have mellowed out but still give off the tropical vibe.

The brewed liquid is that of a bright yellow ornagery colouring a bit like a sunflower.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip, and i am hooked!

Every single flavour is working in perfect harmony. So much so that there isn’t really a stand-out flavour. It’s doing exactly like the blend is named “tropical punch” .

At times, the blend gives off pina colada vibes with the tropical tones mixed with the coconut. Although primarily the blend tastes more a mix of the apple and passion fruit and the pineapple which provide the blend with perfect sweet and sour notes.

The use of the floral aspects within the blend adds an almost lighter mellow aspect to the blend, which only enhances the fruity flavours.

This blend is also the perfect brew for brewing as long as possible as this only enhances the punch!

This tea blend is so versatile as it’s one that will be perfect hot or cold or even as part of a blend for a spritzer. Perfect for a summers evening.

Happy Sipping 🙂

On peaking inside you’re able to see all the fruity pieces that include:
Strawberry, orange and apple pieces, lemon grass, hibiscus blossom.

IMG_1392-0
On brewing, the fruity aroma just intensifies, its like a Berry fruit cocktail.

IMG_1395-0
Steeping as recommended for 5 minutes you are left with one of the prettiest cups of tea I think I might ever have drunk. It certainly screams Strawberry in its vibrancy.

It’s only when Sipping the tea, that the Strawberryness really comes out. It’s still mingled with the other fruity flavours but it’s certainly a little ray of sunshine ! Together all the flavours work so it certainly suits its name Strawberry swirl.

This tea is a perfect drink for the summer and I’m sure it would be just as nice over ice on a hot day as it is warm on this sunny spring day 🙂

Happy Sipping !
