Twist – Strawberry and Rose

Time for Tea Please?

Taking time to have a cup of tea is more essential to me now than ever. Time to escape from the madness of Lockdown life. Especially after a long day at work. Thanks to Twist Tea for sending me some of there teas to try.

Twist Tea

Twist Tea was found in January 2017 by the Kavanaugh family to create ( taken direct from website) something really innovative for lovers of tea and set about creating a range of the finest whole leaf teas, herbs and fruits, blended to delight taste buds and bring a smile to its drinkers.

They’ve “always loved tea. There’s nothing like it to lift the spirits and raise a smile, whether alone or with others, out and about or in the comforts of your own home”.

That sentiment is absolutely lovely especially at the covid would we find ourselves in with Lockdown in full swing again.

Strawberry and Rose

For this blend Twist uses : Chinese White Tea, Apple Pieces, Rosehip, Hibiscus, Freeze-dried Strawberry (5%), Elderflower, Orange Blossom, Rose Petals, Orange Peel, Natural Flavouring.

As soon as you open the tea pouch the fruity floral aromas of the blend are coming through. While the white tea is taking a back seat.

Let’s get Brewing!

I love being able to see the tea blend through the pyramid teabags.

The aroma whilst brewing is primarily that of strawberry but on closer sniffing the Rose shines quietly through.

The brewed liquid is of a deep pink colouring. It certainly helps entice you in to want to drink it! Not that it doesn’t smell tealicious.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am surprised at how delicate the tea sip is. The white tea within the blend adds it unique flavour as an under lying taste to the tea blend. With its clean taste. Hard to imagine a clean taste but that’s just white tea for you. Crisp and clear.

The Rose is actually more prominent within the sip in comparison to the strawberry side of the teas naming. With the use of the other ingredients the tea flavouring is fruity berry and citrus with a floral side mixed with crisp white tea.

This tea would be perfect hot , cold or as a spritzer it’s such a versatile blend.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Wan Ling Tea House – Silver Needle 2014

Time for Tea Please?

Thanks to the lovelies at Wan Ling Tea House I’m able to share with you their Silver Needle , white tea.

Wan Ling Tea House was founded as name suggests by Wan Ling where she grew up surrounded by tea and her family even grew tea!

To discover their tea for yourself hit the link

Wan Ling Tea House and their Silver Needle 2014 is direct the tea mountains found in the Northern Fujian. This tea is produced by sun drying it.

I’ve not rally drank a lot of white tea before so I’m excited to try.

Upon opening the tea pouch you are able to smell the light tea tones of the white tea.

It’s clear to see how this tea got its name as the leaf does look like needles!

Brew time !

Upon brewing the aroma of the tea is very similar to the that of its dry state. With what I can describe as a light aroma not too dissimilar to that of green tea.

After brewing for around 3 minutes the brewed liquid is a light yellow in colour.

Upon first sip I am very surprised about its delicate flavour. It doesn’t even really have a taste I can overly pin point to describe it as to you over than white tea. Not that comparing the taste of a tea is something that can always happen.

However there is something quite calming about sipping on something that seems so delicate in its flavour. It’s certainly making a wet and blustery day seem that little bit brighter!

Happy Sipping 🙂

Youthberry – Teavana

Time for Tea Please?

Today Starbucks UK launched there new range of Teavana Teas and to celebrate they were having a teavanaparTEA with free teas!

I decided to try the Youthberry!

A white tea flavoured with gojiberrys and pineapple.

The aroma of the tea was pure bliss especially on a nippy autumn day. It was fruity and enticing and I was rather impatient waiting for it to cool as knowone wants a burnt tongue.

It was worth the wait !

It was light and refreshing and although you couldn’t overly taste the white tea tang (not a problem for me) the fruity tones of the pineapple mixed with the goji Berry was a perfect match working together to provide sip after sip of bliss! Plus what a colour …

So thanks Starbucks for my free Tea!

Coconut Truffle

Time for Tea Please ?

I’m very fortunate that my gym is opposite to a Whittards Store it’s very hard to resist but today I couldn’t !

I’m really hit and miss when it comes down to white teas!

However ……

Coconut Truffle !

The name itself just makes it sound indulgent , it didn’t have much on aroma but the taste was light and delicate with its coconut tones but it was perfectly balanced in sweetness and in flavour through the co binational of cocoa kernels and blueberry leaves. Ooooo how exotic ! if only it was iced cold on a sun lounger ! Well one can dream 🙂
