Slenderize

The idea behind Slenderize as a tea blend is to boost metabolism and minimize cravings to help thin your frame.

For this blend Framework Wellness Tea uses the following ingredients : Organic Pu-erh Tea, Organic Cacao Nibs, Organic Orange Fruit, Organic Fennel Seed, Organic Ginseng Root, Organic Orange Peel, Natural OC Flavouring.

IMG_0615
Upon opening the tea pouch you are instantly engulfed with the aroma of the fennel seed. I’m not always a fan of teas with fennel in as it can be an over powering flavour. On further sniffing the earthy pu-erh notes and the sweet fruity tones start to come through, which I’m hoping will intensify when brewing.

Let’s get brewing!

Whilst brewing the aroma of the tea completely changes from that of when you first open the pouch . The Pu-erh side of the tea certainly intensifies and provides an almost earthy aroma when combined with the cacao nibs. I’m only picking up a light hint of the Orange peel but will we be able to taste it.

IMG_0618
I’m not too surprised with the brewed liquid being a browny tone from the
Pu-Erh within the blend.

First sip is very inTEAresting ! It is not what I was expecting at all based on its aroma in both its dry state and while it was brewing. To me the main body of the sip is a very peasant combination of the pu-reh and cacao providing the intensity and earthiness to the tea which is instantly uplifted by the refreshing whack of orange. Which until the sipping process the Orange side of the tea has been fairly dormant but it just takes this tea to the next level.

I was slightly concerned with the intensity of the fennel seed in the aroma stakes that it would completely engulf this tea however it’s very much an after thought in the flavour stakes. The use of the ginseng root too is only really apparent at the end of the sip when mixed with fruity orangeness provides a much needed but subtle warming kick.

Happy sipping 🙂

Framework Wellness Tea

Framework Wellness Tea is brought to you by Sarah and Colleen who met in 2014 while watching their children play. Further than the usual ‘mom’ chatter with discussions upon business and wellness coming up often. It was from these conversations which eventually led them to co-founding of Framework Wellness Tea in 2019.

Relax

IMG_0407
For this blend Framework Wellness Tea uses : Ingredients: Organic Rosehips, Organic Blackberry Leaves, Organic Lemon Verbena, Organic Lemongrass, Organic Chamomile, Organic Orange Peel, Natural Passion Fruit Flavouring.

Let’s get brewing!

IMG_0432
Whilst brewing the aroma completely changes . Unlike in its dry state where you were only really able to identify prominently the camomile, once emersd per within the hot water the fruity citrus notes start to really sing. Especially the passion fruit flavourings.

IMG_0404
Considering the ingredients within the blend I was shocked of the brewed liquid. With the rosehips and blackberry I was expecting more of a pinky purple but with the camomile within the blend its brewed yellow instead.

Let’s get sipping!

Wow first sip is just tealicious! I was not expecting this tea to be so punchy with its flavour. It has added levels of flavour depth. From the lemon, orange and passion fruit being the initial hit of a beauTEAful fruit cocktail, followed by the berryness of blackberry and rosehip and lastly its the turn of the camomile to sing adding to an almost after taste yet not an after thought! It provides a balanced level to the tea and almost cleanses the pallet ready for the next sip. Which I am more than ready for, it certainly tickles the taste buds.

This tea has actually really surprised me. I do feel very refreshed and can feel myself relaxing by its comforting flavour and aroma it entices the senses and almost has soothing qualities. Perfect if you’ve had a hard day or just need a moment of calm.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Debonair Tea Co. – Dream On

Time for Tea Please?
I love unwinding at the end of the day with a mug tea. As long as its caffeine free I’m opening to trying anything that either help me destress or get me ready for bed. Today I’m trying Dream On by the Debonair Tea Co.

IMG_9885
Upon opening the tea pouch you are hit with the unmistakeable aroma of lavender mixed with Rooibos tea.

IMG_9886
For this blend Debonair Tea Co. uses Honeybush, rooibos, chamomile, lemon balm, rose petals, lavender and blue cornflowers. The ingredients for this tea was picked specifically for the qualities that they can provide to the drinker to provide a relaxing sipping experience.

Honeybush for its soothing qualities.
Camomile for insomnia, stress , anxiety & stomach.
Lavender to reduce stress and anxiety.
Lemon Balm of which reduces stress and aid sleep. For best results, it is advised lemon balm should be combined with other herbs, as found in this blend.
Rose Petals brewed as tea it can have a mild hypnotic effect and can help to induce sleep in a way comparable to medications such as Valium.
(Info from https://www.debonairtea.co.uk)

Let’s get brewing!

Whilst brewing the aroma isn’t too dissimilar to its dry state. The only slight difference being that the flora smells isn’t as pungent, allowing the aroma of the rooibos come through stronger.
With this blend I wasn’t too sure on what the brewed liquid would be like. So was quite surprised with its brown colouring although with the Rooibos tea within the blend it should have been expected.

IMG_9888
First sip and I am hooked! There’s just something about the flavour combination that is intriguing. It doesn’t overly taste like it smells. Some how the combination of all the flavours just work well all blended as one. There isn’t one aspect of the ingredients that scream louder than the others instead they blended together in harmony. The first half off the sip is more designated to the Rooibos and Honeybush with the after taste taking on the floral aspects. Particularly the lavender with an after thought of lemon balm with its minty flavour. Which made for a refreshing crisp sip. I was also pleasantly surprised by the natural sweetness. The only real flavour that I couldn’t detect within the tea was the camomile.

IMG_9094-0
Upon opening the teach pouch the dried aroma is very distinctive with a Rooibos, if your a Rooibos drinker you will know exactly what I mean. There’s also the odd whiff rose and fennel.

Let’s get brewing !

IMG_9096
Whilst brewing the aroma doesn’t change which is something that always pleases me with me a tea.

Like any Rooibos based tea the brewed liquid is a brown with a redy tinge.

IMG_9098
First sip is just tealicious. On first sip the Rooibos is the main flavour. It’s not until more of on after taste that you start getting the Rose aspect of the tea blend. Another distinct flavour that strongly comes from through, is that of the cocoa nibs. It adds an almost earthy flavour tea to the brew but it also deepens the Rooibos flavouring.

If there’s one slight downside to the tea is the flavour of the Rose. For me it doesn’t come through strong enough. The floral delicateness it’s most certainly there and that adds a lightness to the sip but I love rose and would have liked it to come through just a bit stronger.

A further aspect of this tea that makes it even more of a pleasure to sip is the potential health benefits that it can bring to you from drinking it. Added benefits from drinking tea is always a good thing in my books.

Happy Sipping 🙂

teapigs – Clean N Green

One thing I love about sitting down to a cuppa tea is the importance of simply having a little bit of me time. The tea combines green tea, lemongrass, ginger, coconut and dandelion leaves which work together to cleanse the body.

On opening the packet you are hit with the coconutty lemony tones enriched with ginger. It actually reminds me of a piña colada cocktail! Now where’s the beach.

IMG_3246
Get the kettle on!

It’s recommended for a brew time of 3-5 minutes. As a tea lover not 100% sold on green tea I’ve gone for the lower amount of time. However tea is unique to you so brew to your preferences.

IMG_3247
As soon as the hot water hits the tea bags you are engulfed by the essence of lemongrass and smells completely different to its dried state.

IMG_3248
I was also expecting for a green tea base that the brewed tea liquid would be more green in colour rather than the vibrant yellow it turned out to be. Which was a pleasant surprise and I’m therefore hoping that green tea flavour might be hidden within the taste too. So let’s see!

Upon first sip I was pleasantly surprised.

The overall majority of the flavour comes from the lemongrass . As the sip progresses you then feel the ginger kicking in with its unmistakeable burning sensation followed by the after taste of coconut.

Now I don’t know what a dandelion leave tastes like but I do know what green tea tastes like and they seem to have more of a back seat with the blend. This isn’t something to be disappointed by as the combination of the flavours all together just works.

IMG_3249
The extra major advantage of sipping on the lemon sensation is that it’s helping your body ! I love the way teapigs have designed a tea to aid in detoxing your body. Helping you look after yourself from the outside in and with this tea it’s perfect for a tea lover to sip on. Or if your a tea lover like me that’s not a green tea fan but us after the added benefits of drinking it perfect as you wouldn’t know that’s what you are drinking. So a win win all round.

Happy Sipping 🙂
