Chai Latte

On opening the chai pouch you are instantly engulfed with the spiced aromas.

One perk of having a chai latte sachet is that all you have todo is open the packet , pour it into a cup , boil the kettle , pour the water in , stir and sip!

First sip is just tealicious !

Now I know it doesn’t really count as a tea but the tea and spices work perfectly together. You get enough of a kick but it’s also nice and balanced.

The latte consistency well balanced of watery yet thick too which sounds weird but if your an instant coffee/ hot choc sachet drinker you’ll know what I mean. With a nice spicy frothy head.

A chai latte is just perfect this time of year , the spices add a little kick to the autumn days.

Happy Sipping 🙂

For me drinking Matcha is a strange one because I don’t overly enjoy drinking green tea yet matcha I do! Which is a major bonus with matcha providing 10 times more nutritional value per cup than green tea as well 137 x antioxidants more than green tea. Matcha also increases thermogenesis which encourages fat burn!

IMG_3200
Now if that doesn’t tempt you to try Matcha I don’t know what else will! Especially with its fantastic vibrant green colouring !

Matcha Latte Time !
Whisk the powder with hot water

IMG_3201
Steam your desired milk, I’m using soya!

IMG_3205
You don’t have to drink your matcha as a latte , you can drink it as a tea, a shot or even bake with it !

Time to get sipping !
I love a tea based latte first sipping through the foamy layer to the teay goodness.
The matcha flavour was soft and not bitter in its after taste, which I’ve found previously when trying Matcha.
Unlike other matcha I’ve had before it was slightly more grainy through sipping. Wether this was down to not having a special bamboo which who knows so next time I’ll have to whisk a bit more and see if that helps. I always find it takes a few goes to get it just right from how much powder to use for your taste or temperature to make it too.

Overall it was lovely sipping experience and with all the benefits you can get from drinking Matcha it’s always worth a try!

Happy Sipping 🙂

I’m yet to find a matcha that I actually enjoy drinking so here’s hoping Gold and Tea can change that with Matcha originating from Kagoshima and Kyoto Japan. I love the idea of Matcha tea so much because of all the benefits of drinking it.

Gold and Tea outline their Matcha tea benefits to include:

packed with antioxidants including a cancer-fighting catechin called EGCG
Boosts metabolism and burns calories
Natural detox
Relaxes the mind and body
Rich in fiber, chlorophyll, and vitamins
Enhances mood and aids in concentration
Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar
possesses 20 times more antioxidants than blueberries or pomegranates

Now if that’s not enough benefits to want to love Matcha then what is!

So today I’m brewing up a Matcha Latte using Gold and Tea – Organic Ceremonial Matcha .

Popping open the packet you are instantly hit with the green vibrancy of the matcha tea powder.

Taking a nice sized spoonful

And mix/whisk with some warm water

Next steam some milk, or heated milk will work just as well. Today I’m using soya milk. Heat and poor.

IMG_3239
Hey presto a matcha latte.

Time to get sipping.

First sip and I am pleasantly surprised!

I’m not the biggest green tea fan but this Matcha may now be the best I’ve tried. Combined with the soya milk it’s a very pleasurable sipping experience. It was actually quite mild in taste with none of those grassy side effects. It was smooth and not grainy and unlike other matcha’s I’ve tried it wasn’t bitter. So there was no need to add any honey or cinnamon, which was a lovely bonus.

It wasn’t as green as I may have been expecting it to be but the subtleness of its colour combined with the beige tonnes of the soya milk made it subtle in colour. Although it may have been a different out come colour wise if using different milk. Here’s to finding out as , i’m already looking forward to my next matcha latte and consuming all the benefits.

So if your like me and a not 100% sold on the taste of Matcha then you must give Gold and Tea a try.
