Goodnight

For this blend Cuppa and Co uses: Moroccan mint, peppermint leaves, liquorice root, silver linden blossoms, wild strawberry leaves, marigold blossoms, rose hips, red rose petals, & chamomile blossoms.

Upon opening the tea pouch, you are instantly hit with the spearmint aroma primarily with an underlying mintness from the morrocan as well as the marigold blossoms.

Let’s get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing isn’t too dissimilar to that of its dry state. The mint aroma is very much the main aroma with a light hint of liquorice root.

The brewed liquid is that of a yellowy green colouring

Let’s get Sipping 🙂

First sip and I am hooked.

I love a tea blend that is aimed towards winding down getting ready for bed a moment of calm and this brew hitting those boxes.

The mint aspects of the blend is the main taste you get. This provided a much needed refreshing aspect. Mints down for its tummy tonic tendancys with its a lightness and flavour soothes you each sip.

I have a love-hate relationship with liquorice in tea blends. However, within this blend, balance is just right . You can taste it and feel in just the right amount if doesn’t over power each sip.

The floral ingredients are very subtle with each sip but add a light sweetness that lifts the blend to the next level and all work to bring that moment of added calm especially the chamomile.

I can certainly see this blend being part of bed time routine ensuring me a “goodnight”.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Harmony Leaf Tea – Rooibos Relax

Time for Tea Please?

Thanks to Harmony Leaf Tea for sending me their blend Relax to try and share with you from Portugal. Which is a new tea country for me as well!

Harmony Leaf Tea

This small company was created by me, Ângela, a portuguese woman in her 30s who lives in a village called Vila das Aves (village of birds).

With the habit of drinking tea with my mother, I developed a love for trying new teas and learning about their benefits. That’s why I decided to create this brand from home and finally start doing something that I’m really passionate about.
I hope you enjoy and explore the different flavors that will make you fall in love for this wonderful drink full of benefits.

Relax

For this blend Harmony Leaf Tea uses: Rooibos, orange blossom, valerian, apple, salt, lavender, mallow, blue cornflower, saflower, aroma.

Upon opening the tea pouch you are hit with a real cocktail of flavours it’s sweet and fruity with a hint of menthol even. It’s giving me envisions of sweets almost. The aroma wasn’t what I was expecting but that’s not a bad thing as I’m excited to try.

Let’s get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing whilst brewing isn’t too dissimilar to that of its dry state. A mix of sweet fruity and menthol but the Rooibos is starting to come through now as well.

The brewed liquid is that of a dark browny red.

Let’s get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked. Considering how this blend smells while brewing it doesn’t taste anything like it.

The blend itself is primarily a mix of the orange and apple bringing the main flavours however it is so perfectly balanced that the use of the floral ingredients brings an uplifting edge to it.

Using the lavender is almost like a cleanser and the after taste.

One thing about this tea is that although it’s a Rooibos you can’t overly taste it while drinking the blend. The menthol side of the tea I could smell whilst brewing isn’t present in the sipping experience. However I am getting a slight flavour hit of like a medicinal sweet / cough sweet, think cherry drop even.

One things for sure is that this blend does it exactly like its name sake and I’m certainly starting to feel relaxed.

Happy Sipping 🙂

The brewed liquid is that of a pinky orange colouring.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

This blend really hits the spot, especially if you’ve got a sweet tooth! Which I certainly do.

The blend is really fruity, primarily a mix of Rhubarb and Apple. With an undertone of the elderberry adding extra depth of flavour. This combined provides a taste sensation where you get tart sourness kick and then sweetness which you can feel on your teeth as well as on the senses.

It’s only really on the aftertaste that the custard flavour is present. Think crumble and custard.

This blend is giving me such a trip down memory lane. Think childhood pick a mix of my fave kind the little tube sweets also known as “Rhubarb and Custard” . Although I say “childhood” who am I kidding I still am haha. This blend is naturally sweet too so is really hitting the sweet shop vibe.

This is the perfect all round blend to where its perfect hot but you know its going to be just as nice cold too. As well as bringing the sweet hit for your cuppa fix.

Happy Sipping 🙂

The brewed liquid is that of a yellow colour.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

It’s not quite the taste I was expecting based on its aroma. Yet it doesn’t dissapointment. The main flavour on the first part of the sip is that of orange and the pineapple which are giving me a passion fruit sort taste when sipped all together.

The second part of the sip is where the flavour of the Lemongrass. With an after taste of papaya.

Blended together the flavours work perfectly bring a tropical taste to each sip. This tea is giving me nostalgia and back to my childhood and if any of youve had a a carton of umbongo this tea is giving me those vibes.

This blend is naturally really sweet I’d recommend not adding any additional sweetness to it and taking it as it comes.

It’s also one of those blends that can keeping brewing as you sip but also perfect hot and cold depending on the seasons.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Teabury – Red Velvet

Time for Tea Please?

Thanks to Teabury for sending me their Red Velvet blend to try. I love a slice or red velvet cake so can’t wait to get Sipping on this as a brew.

We love nature and all its beauty, colours, smells, tastes and goodness. We ask the question ‘Why flavour something artificially when there is so much natural beauty and goodness around?’

We do not use oils to flavour our teas, if oil is present then this is because we found no organic natural alternative to bring you the full taste of the tea you desire and we will make this clear on the tea you buy.

We are not a mass producer. We hand blend in small batches to maximise the flavour intensity of the organic ingredients. We blend our loose leaf tea with care and love. We care about what you drink.

Red Velvet

For this blend Teabury uses: Organic Rooibos blended with Cocoa Nibs and Rose Petals.

Doesn’t it just look BeauTEAful!

Upon opening the tea pouch, you are instantly hit with the aroma of the Rose with underlying hints of the Rooibos and the Rose.

Let’s Get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing isn’t too dissimilar to that of its dry state other than rooibos is very much the main aroma.

The brewed liquid is that of a is that of a dark redy brown colour. It’s a lot dark then other rooibos blends but I feel this could be down to the cocoa nibs.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

The main flavour of this tea is that of the Rooibos. It isn’t overpowering of the other flavours with the blend yet is most prominent and also remains consistent throughout.

Rooibos brings an almost earthy nutty like taste to the tea, bringing a much needed sweetness. This works perfectly with the bitter sweet cocoa adding light chocolate tones to the blend.

The floral side with the rose adds an extra light refreshingness. The Rose, although delicate, is able to hold its own and is powerful enough to give hints purely on its own but also as a collective.

I wouldn’t quite say the overall flavour of this blend screams red velvet or the cake I had in my mind, but its BeauTEAful sip.

Happy Sipping 🙂

The Tea Enthusiasts- Black Forest Gateau

Time for Tea Please?

Over the festive period, I may have over indulged (and so we should) a little on one of my fave christmas treats, and thanks to The Tea Enthusiasts, im now able to drink it too! Black Forest Gateau.

The Tea Enthusiasts

(Direct from Website)The Tea Enthusiasts was founded by Mother and Daughter team Carol and Liza in 2004. Liza was the foodie with a passion for tea and Carol was a biomedical scientist who thought she had retired. It began as many businesses do in a spare room, but it quickly grew into its own premises. Liza had begun to explore the world of tea when she found the taste of coffee unpalatable during pregnancy. She was importing samples from all over the world and sharing them with friends. Its this ethos of sharing teas and knowledge with friends that still forms the foundation of the Tea Enthusiasts today.
In 2016 Carol took the decision to retire for good and Liza moved the company to a warehouse in the north of County Durham. Interestingly our building used to be a coaching inn and local pub. It had been closed for 11 years by the time we took it over and renovated but the building in some form has been on this spot since the early 1800s. From there we began to branch out from Internet sales to wholesale, stocking some of the finest delis, cafes, restaurants and shops in the region.

Black Forest Gateau

For this blend, Tea Enthusiasts uses: Black tea, Pomegranate, Cherry stems, Moringa, Cocoa beans, Cranberry, Cornflower + Safflower petals, Natural flavours.

Upon opening the tea pouch you are instantly hit with the aromas of the cocoa and the floral notes of the Safflower petals.

Let’s Get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing isn’t too dissimilar to that of its dry state. The cocoa is still very much the main aroma with undertones of the earthiness of the black tea being present now as well.

The brewed liquid is that of a dark brown colour.

I’ve chosen to drink this brew black as my preference is to not add milk to a flavoured black tea. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t, if you’d enjoy it more that way.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked!

This brew is what I call a two part sip.

The first part of the sip brings the taste of the black tea and the cocoa. This combination brings a deep depth of flavour and an almost bitterness to it.

The second part of the sip brings the sourness of the cherry, yet mixed with the floral ingredients brings a mellow, almost sweetness to the blend, which works in perfect contrast.

The after taste is earthy of the cocoa and the black tea. Yet the sour cherry keeps you wanting to sip more and more!

It may even be worth trying with a dash of milk as it might add a creaminess to it or whipped cream ! We’ve got to use these festive goodies right?! OK just me!

Happy Sipping 🙂

Let’s Get Brewing!

I sort of cheated this week and popped in for a tasting so they brewed it for me ! Plus I just love there glass tea pots and tea light warmers.

The brewed liquid is that of a bright red colouring very much like rudolphs nose.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

I love Mulled Wine and this is very much the next best thing. Perfect for anyone and everyone and I’m sure you could even infuse your own bottle of red wine this blend too!

It’s fruity and rich, the apple and hibiscus work perfectly together bringing an almost Berry taste to the tea. Mixed with “the acid” brings an almost orangery taste to the blend. As well as bringing the tangy after sip and taste sensation.

Alongside the Chicory root bring extra depth and the flavouring for the spiced tones of the blend working all together ro bring the Mulled side to the brew.

All I need now is a roaring fire and some where cosy to warm up and relax for the perfect winter season brew.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked!!!!

Each sip is just a little bit of everything through out the sip. Ever flavour is accounted for either individual or blended together.

The initial part of the sip is the black tea, cornflower & sunflower blossoms and hibiscus giving a little bit of the lady grey vibes. The middle of the sip is the turn of the cloves and the Almonds. This brings a spicy nuttyness which elevates the floral side but also gets you ready for the third part of the sip. Where its the orange peels turn to shine. Rounding off the sip with a citrus kick and added hit of flavour working perfectly with warming notes.

Every flavour has its turn and they all work together nothing is over shadowed and the Sipping experience stays the same through out its perfectly sweetened just as it is and is a pleasure to drink.

The Kenilworth Tea Company- Founder’s Blend

Time for Tea Please?

Wake up and smell the tea! Thanks to The Kenilworth Tea Company I’m able to share with you their Founders Blend.

The Kenilworth Tea Company

(Direct from website)

The Kenilworth Tea Company, where passion meets health-conscious choices. I’m Hector, the proud founder of our tea venture. From an early age, I dreamt of creating a company that would embody my deepest passions. While my love for tea may not have been fully developed at that young age, recent experiences have led me to recognize the need for a healthier alternative to traditional sweetened teas.

Observing friends and colleagues adding sugar to their tea, I became determined to offer them an option that would be both delicious and beneficial, free from the negative effects of sugars and artificial sweeteners. Thus, The Kenilworth Tea Company came into existence!

Founder’s Blend

For blend The Kenilworth Tea Company uses: Kenilworth ceylon and assam.

Upon opening the tea pouch you are hit with a deep earthy aroma of the black tea blend.

Let’s Get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing isn’t too different to that of its dry state, its still rich and earthy.

The initial brewed liquid is that of a dark brown colouring . As this blend is a breakfast tea, I enjoy mine with milk. However tea is unique to the drinker so if you like yours without thats fine too.

Let’s Get Sipping!

First sip and it’s got you enticed.

Just like its aroma the initial sip of the brew just hits the spot. Every aspect of the tea just works. English Breakfast Tea is quite hard to explain. This blend of tea uses a mix of Assam and Ceylon and they both bring the own attributes but together provide a maltyness like earthy deep flavour.

Despite this it brings a contrasting almost bitterness upon the after taste.

The blend is also naturally sweet and id recommend drinking it without adding sugar or sweetener too. Despite its earthiness the natural sweetness counter acts this to make it a smooth sip.

Each sip remains the same flavour throughout the whole mug. Which is a bonus with any tea blend.

This blend isn’t just for breakfast but also has the flavour to get the hit from it at all times.

Happy Sipping 🙂

Spiced Apple

For this blend Teaspoon Tea Company uses: Hibiscus, orange peel, rosehip, cinnamon, ginger, clovers.

Upon opening the tea pouch you are instantly hit with the spicy notes of the cinnamon mixed with that of the orange. It almost smells like a rich fruit cake.

Let’s get Brewing!

The aroma whilst brewing isn’t too dissimilar to that of its dry state however the floral berryness of the rose hip and hibiscus is taking centre stage with the fruity spicyness kicking in too. Here’s hoping it tastes as good as it smells!!!!

The brewed liquid is of a deep burgundy. It just looks tealicious.

Let’s get Sipping!

First sip and I am hooked.

It really does taste as good as it smells.

The main flavours on initial taste is that of the orange and hibiscus. Bringing not just a citrusy twist but a rich deep berry flavour with floral tones.

The spiced aspects of the cinnamon, ginger and cloves add an extra dimensions. Not just for their warming qualities but they add a spice earthiness which offer a complete different taste sensation.

Together all the ingredients work perfectly, each having their own turn to shine while providing their overall flavour of the blend.

It’s also one those blends that is lovely hot but you know will work just as well cold too.

This blend is just perfect for the festive season. It really is giving me mulled wine vibes. That or the blend could easily be used to infuse wine or cider for the perfect winter drinks.

Happy Sipping 🙂
