For this blend Sriluxe uses 100% non mixed Ceylon tea and Bergamot Oil.
Upon opening the exquisite outside packaging you are greeted with fine printed with their logo, shiny and enticing foiled wrapped tea bags.
Upon opening the foil pouch are instantly engulfed with the distinct aroma of earl grey tea. It’s not super strong in its smell but there is no mistaking what tea it is either.
Let’s get Brewing!
Whilst brewing the aroma doesn’t overly intensify. I’d say it’s a bout a medium in its smell however as I’m an earl grey lover you can’t mistake the smell of an earl grey tea!
Like with any black based tea (this one being Ceylon) the brewed liquid is that of a brown colour.
It’s a little lighter than I expected it to be so wether this is an indicator of its strength we shall find out.
As always with an earl grey I always drink mine without milk , but feel free to add milk to yours if you so wish!
Let’s get Sipping !
First sip is and I need more. Now let me tell you why. This tea isn’t really like an earl grey that I’ve tried before. Now wether this is down to the ingredients / way it’s produced I don’t know. The ceylon and bergamot are very much in equals taste parts. Meaning the share the sip which isn’t always the case with earl greys.
The bergamot has a lingering after taste which I just love however for me I love a bit more bergamot and citrus but that’s just my personal flavour preference.
This tea for me is light in its flavouring and could maybe be brewed with a slice lemon which would just add some extra depth.
The lightness of the tea however is refreshing not just in its flavour but it’s attributes. It would be a great palette cleansers so would work amazingly sipped on during an afternoon tea or on a hot day when you’re not after a deep tasting tea but something more light and refreshing but still getting your black tea fix.
Happy Sipping 🙂☕️
